About Nkangala Fet College
Nkangalca TVET College was established in 2003 as a result of the amalgamation of Witbank, Middelburg, Mpondozankomo, and CN Mahlangu campuses (previously Technical Colleges) in the Nkangala district. Waterval boven Campus was transferred from Ehlanzen FET College in 2011. The institution was established following the passage of the FET Act by Parliament in 1996.
The College is the largest educational institution in the Mpumalanga Province, serving the Nkangala population. The most rural are CN Mahlangu and Waterval Boven.
The bulk of students come from the metropolitan regions of Witbank and Middelburg, which are the most densely inhabited in the region. The remaining students are from the former Kwa-Ndebele and Waterval boven rural communities. In 2007, there were 719 students enrolled in NC(V) programs and 11,917 students enrolled in Nated 191 courses. More than 95% of our students come from historically underprivileged backgrounds.
Civil Engineering and Building Construction, Electrical Infrastructure Construction, Engineering and Related Design, Finance, Economics and Accounting, Hospitality, Tourism, Information Technology and Computer Sciences, and Office Administration are the College’s eight NC(V) programs. Noted (191) programs are still available, for a total of seven courses. The curriculum for all programs is prepared and approved by the Department of Higher Education and Training.
The Extended Learning Unit (ELU) focuses on occupational training by offering recognized programs and learner ships. The delivery of learner ships got off to a great start, with 2947 learners taking part in contracts worth R 6,232,500.00.
