Short Course in Disaster Management
This course is designed for people working in the field of disaster, risk and emergency management in either the public or private sector such as:
- Fire department personnel (fire officers, firefighters, etc.)
- Disaster and risk managers
- Development officials
- Police officers
- Health officials
- Traffic and municipal security personel
- Town planners, etc.
Purpose of this course
The principal aim of this short course is to train individuals in public and private institutions in various issues relating to disaster management. Special emphasis is placed on interaction between disasters and development and relevant disaster management legislation.
If you intend applying for this course, you should note the following carefully
- The course is not for individuals. A minimum of 15 students is required.
A formal written acceptance of UNISA’s quotation for a minimum of 15 students.
- Registration is done only twice each year, thus from December to January and June to July.
